Our fine mayor today showed up at Show Dogs (a little late but very apologetic) to announce the release of a new pool of low-interest loans to businesses seeking to enhance the cultural and arts district in and around Central Market (between 5th and 10th Streets), as well as tax incentives for restoration of historical buildings. The new loans will total $11.5 million, and as Curbed points out, the restoration incentives will likely go first to the Grant Building at 7th and Market, where the latest news is the arrival, in the sometime-maybe-future, of a hotel with a club, restaurant, and rooftop bar — which will make it second only to Medjool in al fresco drinking opportunities where you will usually be windblown and freezing but you will remain stalwart about it because it's so pretty up there.
