This week's concert preview is being brought to you by Kevin Meenan of Epicsauce, providing detailed concert listings for the Bay Area every week. Follow them on Twitter.
Your live music cornucopia this week includes Tim and Eric's Pusswhip Gangbang performing all the hits from their Adult Swim show at Mezzanine Thursday, Oakland's drum and synth heavy experimental four-piece Religious Girls with Anticon's Jel at The American Steel Building Friday, and local stripped-down noise-pop duo Tartufi at El Rio Saturday.
Our pick is San Francisco's own Thee Oh Sees at Eagle Tavern Thursday. The notoriously busy (2009 saw two full length albums, a collection of demos, and a plethora of singles from these guys) quartet's gritty blend of psychedelic garage-rock stands as some of the area's best, helping to shape and define that unique sound that San Francisco is gradually becoming best known for. It is an absolutely stacked lineup, with the previously profiled Ty Segall and Sacramento's Mayyors and Ganglians rounding out the bill -- this one is not to be missed.
Plenty of other options this week, including local Americana act Buxter Hoot'n at Bottom of the Hill Wednesday, danceable favorites Boyz IV Men at The Lab Thursday and Two Gallant's drummer Tyson Vogel's new project Devotionals at the Make Out Room Sunday -- so be sure to consult the full list.
