This year, SFMOMA celebrates its 75th anniversary. In honor of such a grand milestone, according to 7x7, "the St. Regis has rolled out two limited edition MOMA suites and a MOMA Anniversary Travel Package, which lasts the duration of 2010." Said packages involve hotel rooms with real works prints from the museum's "75 Years of Looking Forward" series -- most notably Heni Matisse and Jackson Pollock (the latter, some might argue, being a superior and more important American artist than soup can-happy Andy Warhol).
The anniversary package, however, ain't cheap. 7x7 goes on to point out that rooms begin at $1,195, but "include one night's stay in one of the limited edition rooms, passes for two to the neighboring museum and a 448-page hardcover catalogue, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art: 75 Years of Looking Forward.
Of course, this would be an excellent jumping off point for SFist's impending "local hotels" feature... but not at these prices. However, if any Best Westerns decide to feature Thomas Kinkade prints above a first-floor room toilet, we're so there.
