Yesterday in San Francisco's Union Square, many people gathered at the Gaza Memorial, Interfaith Service, and Candlelight Vigil to remember the some 1,400-plus men, women and children killed in the attack on Gaza. The vigil appeared to lack the usual fetishism that befalls SF protests -- due in part to many residents being back at their parents' estates or traveling abroad to celebrate the holidays -- the protest seemed a peaceful and effective one.

Steve Rhodes snapped these shots from yesterday's scene. Enjoy.
