In a world where radio play matters less and less to an artists' career, the Bay Area is still a stronghold for high-quality college radio. You'll barely hear any pops and clicks of an unseasoned DJ's tongue in our collection of stations, but you will hear a consistently generous portion of good tunes, circling every genre from jangle pop to French cold wave. In fact, California's beloved non-commercial radio station KFJC is proudly celebrating its 50th anniversary tonight at Cafe De Nord.

Come hang out with KFJC's staff and resident DJs tonight as they celebrate their good tidings just in time for seasonal tidings. Tonight's celebration includes performances by local Bay Area bands Pink Canoes, Arrington De Dionyso, Work, Al Qaeda, Seven Lies About Girls, and avant-rock outfit Pink Mountain. Help keep college radio going by supporting KFJC tonight! Admission is free free free, so we don't want to hear any excuses.
