A total of 33 protesters were arrested this morning at San Francisco State University, one day after students took over the Business school building to protest fee hikes and budget cuts.
University officials said 23 protesters who had occupied the building were arrested on suspicion of trespassing, a misdemeanor," reports SF Chron. "Ten other demonstrators outside the building were arrested on suspicion of unlawful assembly and resisting arrest, also misdemeanors."
Here's raw video of police entering the building a little after 3 a.m..
Although the students planned to occupy the building for three days, they managed to stay for almost 24 hours. Students are upset because, after budget cuts of more than half a billion dollars, "CSU trustees approved a 20 percent fee hike in July, bringing annual tuition to $4,827."
