Oakland, ranked no. 3 in the U.S. when it comes to crime, played host to a police shootout last night. "Oakland police officers opened fire on two armed suspects Thursday evening in an apartment complex parking lot, killing one suspect and injuring the other," reports CBS 5. After an altercation between cops and two (allegedly) armed men escalated, Oakland police then fired away at the two men. Investigators suspect that the shooting victims were "involved in a violent crime in the city earlier Thursday."
