Loaded Gun Found In SF Playground Sandbox

While frolicking at the Visitacion Valley Playground (over on the 200 block of Leland Avenue) on Tuesday, children found a loaded handgun the sandbox. The gun's hammer was cocked back too. Gulp. Luckily, the kids were smart enough not to play with the gun -- something we probably would have done -- but rather tell adults who informed authorities. Police are now looking into whether or not the weapon was used in a November 28 shooting at Wilde Avenue and Rutland Street.
