A "polarizing" figure in the SF food community, Meredith Brody was a memorable one during her tenure at SF Weekly. Yesterday, Eater tell us, Brody parted ways with SF Weekly.

Brody's writing was a mixture of food critique and personal life stories. And, on a personal note, while your editor was making pennies at 185 Berry back in the day, Brody was the first employee to extend her hand to us, whisk us over to a (free!) lunch at a fabulous French bistro in Pac Heights, and dish on the people and workplace at SF Weekly. (And, really, the best kind of employee is the one who will tell you what's what in any given workplace, while making your feel right at home. Right? Right.)

Eater goes on to report that "Village Voice Media will soon launch a nationwide search for a new restaurant critic, with the job ad expected to hit in the next few days."
