As Labor Day Weekend creeps to a dramatic opener, getting over the Bay Bridge will come to a halt in, oh, less than six hours from now.
In addition to completing the $6.2 billion earthquake-safety project, reports SFGate, "there are plans to change light bulbs, smooth out the asphalt and demolish the temporary toll plaza on the far-right side of the approach to the upper deck." Call boxes will be fixed, the tunnel will be cleaned, trees trimmed, and signs given a facelift.
Remember: BART will run all night during the bridge closure. Go here to find out what stations will be open for business during the wee hours of the night.
