A couple of scary tidbits happening in the East Bay. One, a 53-year-old woman was almost kidnapped by two men in a pickup truck. According to the Oakland Tribune, "the woman was walking near Normandy Drive and Lido Boulevard about 9:30 a.m. when a red pickup truck pulled up behind her and a man wearing a ski mask grabbed her." Fortunately, the lady screamed and scared the attempted kidnappers. This is the second time in two weeks that an incident such as this has occurred in the area. If you know anything about this crime, please call 510-578-4237, or the silent witness hotline at 510-578-1400 x. 334.

Also, there seems to be a serial rapist at large in Hayward, sexually assaulting homeless women in the area. The assailant is described as "being black, between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet 2 inches, in his 20s or 30s, and 160 to 200 pounds." According to one of his victims, "the man who attacked her had help from an accomplice and the two men drove off in a car when she fought back after her attacker threatened to kill her."
