MUSIC: Described as "nifty string-strewn, jangle-happy xylophone-plonkers," Okie Rosette, stemming from the now-defunct Granfaloon Bus, has a CD release party happening in Hayes Valley tonight. Emily Jane White (solo performer, guitarist, "ghostly melodies") and Winters Fall (local outfit, "mixes folk and country influences with indie-pop sensibilities") open the show.

READING: The Castro gets even fruitier tonight when Rob Halpern (part of Nonsite Collective; author of Rumored Place, Imaginary Politics, and Snow Sensitive Skin) and Taylor Brady (also active in the Nonsite Collective; author of Yesterday's News, Occupational Treatment, and Snow Sensitive Skin [along with Halpern]) read selections of their poetry.
