Our newest member of Congress just got booed by pro-war Republicans! Jackie Speier, who was just elected this Tuesday to fill out the remainder of Tom Lantos's term in the House of Representatives, was sworn in today, and she promptly gave what's being described as a "fiery" speech calling for a withdrawal of troops from Iraq.

Here's the San Francisco liberal money quote, which we're sure you'll be seeing both on Fox News and MSNBC's Countdown later tonight!

The process to bring the troops home must begin immediately. The president wants to stay the course and a man who wants to replace him suggests we could be in Iraq for 100 years. But Madam Speaker, history will not judge us kindly if we sacrifice four generations of Americans because of the folly of one.

The Republicans in response started a low chorus of booing, and a couple party members, including San Diego's Darryl "the weeper" Issa, walked out. Speier's 13-year-old daughter said, "Why are they booing my mom?" Because she doesn't want to be in Iraq for a hundred years, that's why!

YouTube of Speier's speech above. Eleven minutes long. Our speakers aren't working right now, so we can't tell you when the booing starts, but if we find out, we'll let you know.
