The James Beard Award noms were recently announced. Among them? Eliza Strickland and her jaw-dropping article "Burnt Chefs" () about the demise of San Francisco's CCA. It should be recommend reading for any and all aspiring chefs looking to throw money at a chef school; it is jarring to say the least. (Also, we suggest Tante Marie's Cooking School for those of you serious about learning the culinary arts, entertaining, covering an entire chicken in aspic, etc.) Good luck, Eliza!

On the restaurant front: Boulevard, Slanted Door, A 16, Tartine Bakery, Quince, Delfina, just to name a few, all received nomination. Congratulations, Bay Area chefs and restaurateurs. Your SFist editor looks forward to reviewing and judging you all in the next couple of months to see if you are, in fact, James Beard Award-worthy. We have doubts with a few of you.
