The main goal of reaching the Battle of the Year is, like any movie similar to this, riddled with struggle and problems. Seven, is trying to improve himself and the art of breakdancing by reading Socrates and studying ballet, while the other members of the crew are pursuing their own projects and learning about themselves as well. At times disappointed with the lifestyle of being in a b-boy crew, the guys help pull each other through the tough times on the way to the Battle of the Year.

Kwon inserts his take on this genre of dance competition films, but inserts his own unique vision -- this especially comes through in the dancing scenes and opening credits. If you're into b-boys, this movie is definitely worth seeing.

SFIAAFF concluded on March 23, but please support Asian cinema when possible.
