*CLUB: This hidden gem of a nightclub is hosting some major funk sounds tonight with its aptly titled party, "Funkonnection." Tonight's double bill features Ninja Tune and UK legend Mr. Scruff. Dutch nu-funk masters Kraak & Smaak, and locals superstars Vinnie Esparza (who we can't recommend enough), Motion Potion, and Malarkey also man the decks tonight. A perfect way to preface the Easter Weekend.

FILM: Perfect bookend piece to the near-perfect Mulholland Drive, David Lynch's Lost Highway -- about a jazz saxophonist framed for in the death of his wife intertwined with the tale of a young mechanic and his mistress, more or less, stars Bill Pullman, Patricia Arquette, and Balthazar Getty -- screens at midnight tonight.

MUSIC: It's "Japan 2008" over at the Independent, featuring an night of Petty Booka, two Japanese singers who play ukuleles; Beaches; Detroit 7; Ketchup Mania; the Emeralds; and Scandal.
