Well, we thought your usual SF criminals were getting all Christmas-y into the spirit of the holiday season what with so little crime reported this past week. the festive spirit is not as catchy, it seems. Four shootings separate incidents happened over the weekend, with two of them proving fatal. Ahem:

-- This morning at around 3:20 a.m., smack-dab in our old neighborhood of 23rd Street and Treat, SFPD found four gunshot victims, one of whom was pronounced dead at SF General Hospital. "Police have no suspect information in that shooting." Yet. So start singing, witnesses.

-- Before that, at 2:10 a.m. at the desperate-to-be-average nightclub Whisper -- much like City Nights, Whisper is a club that had all of the opportunity to become a must-visit destination, but failed at doing so within a few short years -- two people were shot at (or just outside) the club. Both victims were hit in the legs, it seems, and sent to SFGH. (It wasn't because of their moves on the dance floor, was it?) They will be fine; moreover, seeing as how they will probably never return to Whisper -- doubly fine.

-- And then, 20 minutes earlier, a drive-by shooting took place in The Submission, injuring four victims. It seems that an "[a]n unidentified vehicle was driving at Mission and 11th streets at about 1:50 a.m. when at least one suspect inside the car began firing shots at a group of people," said SFPD, according to SF Crime.

-- And finally, during the wee hours of Saturday morning, a fight broke out on Polk Street and McAllister at around 1:30 a.m. There, a man in his 20s was shot and killed by one of the two assailants he was fighting. Police aren't sure if the victim knew his attackers, and said suspects "fled the scene and no arrests have been made."
