Why, we've been so preoccupied with murder right down the street from SFist, we forgot that the rest of the Bay Area is also littered with shootings and bloody tomfoolery. Forgive us, won't you? Ahem:

Two employees of Bill's Friendly were shot last night during a botched robbery attempt. One of the store's employees was killed, the other taken to a nearby hospital. (At right: the lone gunman's fierce image.) Another shooting in the North Bay: "an employee of the Fast & Easy Market on Old Redwood Highway north of Santa Rosa [on] Saturday at 4:15 a.m." As of now no suspects are in custody.

Jesus. Yesterday eight people were injured in two separate shootings. First, according to CBS 5 (via Bay City News) "at about 7:40 a.m. a 42-year-old man was shot near the intersection of Fifth Street and Market Avenue in the unincorporated Contra Costa County community of North Richmond." A second shooting occurred at that same intersection later that afternoon, injuring two. And if that wasn't enough, ten minutes later coppers got a call reporting five gunshot victims in San Pablo, all involved in the same shooting earlier. This seems to have been some sort of revenge shooting spree for the initial shooting, it seems. Very dramatic. Read more about it here.
