Red Sox 1 A's 0- We'd like to thank Shannon Stewart for ending Curt Schilling's possible no-hitter, which he was one out away from getting(he was a Julio Lugo error away from having a perfect game up until that point), and thus keeping the already insufferable Curt Schilling from being even more insufferable. We're sure ESPN thanks him too because it kept them from having to stop their 24 hours of LeBron coverage to actually cover another story (although as it involves the Red Sox, it wouldn't be that difficult to do). Pity Joe Blanton who pitched about as well as you could possibly hope to but lost anyways.
Giants 5 Diamondbacks 4- We make fun of the Giants abilities in ninth inning rallies as well as extra innings games, but last night they actually did both. Pedro Feliz homered in the ninth to tie it and Omar Vizquel singled in a run in the 11th to win the game. Thus endeth a roadtrip that from our standpoint, couldn't have been more frustrating-- almost every game made you want to throw things at the tv. Instead of give more details of the game, however, we'd like to steer you to two stories related to the G-Men: the first is that due to suddenly appearing mortal, there is an outside chance Barry might not break Aaron's record. The other one is about a sudden increasing concern that Bochy is running Cain and Lincecum's arms ragged.
