The muggings all occurred between 7:30 and 9:30 between Kansas Street, Harrison and Pennsylvania Streets and the description of the assailant were similar. The assailant had a sawed-off shotgun or a dark-colored rifle and came up from behind and asked for people's money. When one person was approached, they said they didn't have a wallet and the guy just ran off.

Because of the nature of the spree-- all in the same residential area and with varying victims, police think it was all very "opportunistic." Patrols have been increased.
