There's Nothing Funny About this Post

Recently, we linked to a story about a group of people setting up a "tent city" in Richmond to protest all of the escalating violence there. Well, over the weekend, a twenty year old man was shot and killed right across the street from the camp. The man, Travante James, was shot multiple times early Saturday morning around 4. He was not involved in the protest but lived nearby John F. Kennedy Park where the protest was set up.

Since the camps were set up in late September, the numbers of killings had dropped. This was only the second shooting since the camps were set up and sadly, two in four weeks is considered "light" for the area.

Everyone involved in the protest vow to continue on and say this makes them more determined. We could only wish that their message comes through.
