As a result, trains were stopped between Balboa Park and Daly City. Once everything was back up, there were delays of up to half an hour as BART played catch-up.

According to reports, passengers stuck on a train not more than 100 yards from the Daly City BART station decided to take matters into their own hands and pulled the emergency lever to open up the doors to the first car of the train. The passengers then jumped down onto the tracks and walked the way up to the BART station.

We, by the way, had a nice cozy, comfortable ride down the 101 in our car, the one we got so we wouldn't have to put up with that kind of crap.
