You know, some days you log onto SFGate.com and you think, wow, there's a lot of weird local news today.
*A man carjacked, kidnapped, and raped a nun in the Mission, and then went to the cops, saying he wanted to return the car. He says he just "borrowed" the car and he didn't know the woman was a nun. That's not a very good defense, sir.
*A mylar balloon shorted out some power lines in the South Bay, cutting out electricity for 1100 PG&E customers. The remnants of the balloon were found outside Hillview Middle School in San Mateo, but the school claims it wasn't their fault because they have a schoolwide ban on balloons. (Balloons are a distraction, apparently. Boy, schools are really cracking down on kids these days.)
*And a man was killed in a freak accident when a truck backed into him, crushing him against his own steamroller. And in another unfortunate Wile E. Coyote-type accident, a teenager trying out his brother's roommate's scooter lost control and ran into a cement truck. He's probably going to lose his right hand and part of his leg.
