But then GrubHub let us know that they've started a Bay-Area-based site. According to the email they sent us:

We called 8,361 restaurants in the Bay Area (which, by the way, is a very tedious thing to do) from as far out as San Jose and Vacaville and have listed all of them that do home delivery (almost 1,000). We have the menus for all of these restaurants and are adding them to the site as fast as we can scan them.

We did a couple of test runs, and while they're pretty strong on the general listings, they're not quite there yet with the menus (maybe 1 out of every 20 places has a menu on the site). You can also open a (free) account and make orders online.

But that's where menupix.com comes in. They, too, have individual restaurant information, but their chief strength is their comprehensive menu information (as well as the option to add details and info).

Here's our recommendation: Go to GrubHub to see who's delivering to your location, then hit menupix so see what you can get there.

We haven't tried GrubHub's online ordering system yet, but are curious about how well it works. If you've tried it, let us know what you think in the comments!
