Man, our office is by the Montgomery BART/MUNI stop and we didn't see this. Well, we did overoptimistically think we wouldn't need an umbrella today, so we were a little distracted by the rain to look for folks in orange jumpsuits blocking the street from about 8:15-8:45 a.m.
That's right, it's time to protest Bush by tying up traffic again! Seventeen protestors were arrested for blocking an intersection and refusing to comply with police orders, as the group Act Against Torture set up a mock jail on the street and reenacted the hooded guy on the box. The Brass Liberation Orchestra played cheerful jazz tunes as the seventeen protestors were hustled into custody.
The protest was held at Montgomery and Market because that's where Sen. Dianne Feinstein's office is.
