If you're like us, you still have a few disturbing holes on your holiday gift giving. Union Square is now officially insane, Stonestown is too generic, and all the nifty little boutiques are picked over all to hell. Set in a sun-drenched, airy space in the LPH, the Body Gallery has an aesthetic that goes beyond the traditional fitness sweat and mirrors. On their walls they feature works from local artists, and the clientele and trainers include some of our city’s most acclaimed performance artists, circus/burlesque performers and dancers.

The Body Gallery has gift certificates available in any amount. We wouldn't recommend any of the places in our Holiday Gift Guide unless we'd go there ourselves, and the Body Gallery is no exception. This writer had a session there with Body Gallery trainer Jill (we'll tell you all about it in January), and we became a total Pilates convert. Sure, a private session seems like a luxury, but it's , and it's the kind of gift a recipient will never forget.
