Ray Brown Tribute: Happy Bass Day.

Yesterday's early show was particularly moving, as Ray's widow Cecilia was in the audience and went up on stage while the band was singing "Happy Birthday." Ray Brown's picture on the side wall was lit all throughout, and everyone even got some cake! The cherry to go with that cake was an upbeat jazz jam, a bass bash where these amazing musicians played the timeless standards that Ray wrote or loved, and were just having fun playing together and reminiscing about their time in Ray's different bands.
