Oh, it was loud. Righteously so. Loud enough to make you feel like your body was getting sand blasted to the back of the Fillmore. Which is how we like it. We pretty much knew we were in for a good night the moment J picked up his guitar and hit these crunching chords with some weird effect that made the guitar sound all doubled-up and pinched, rusty even. We knew we were in even better stead when a few songs later, on "Post," he went into that meaty riff that takes the song into it's instrumental break and we could feel every pound of weight given to the heaviness of the riffage.
