You know we love San Francisco. You should also know that we hate the fact that nobody f**king delivers (coming soon to an SFist Rant near you). So when we heard about a new service that delivers gourmet food to your door, we got excited. But, of course, there's a catch.

You have to cook it yourself.

That's right, via Contraversion, we first heard about Besos Foods. They do all the shopping (primarily from local, organic purveyors) and prep, put it in a box, and deliver it to your door the same day if you order by 2pm and live in San Francisco (you can also stop by their SoMa offices to pick one up to take home). They're spendy, starting at $25 for a meal that feeds two, and from the pictures we've seen (also covered by Gastronomie SF for the KQED's Bay Area Bites blog), it doesn't look like you're going to end up with leftovers. But still -- delivery!

On a side note, the inimitable Slanted Door is offering a similar deal at their 'Out the Door' window, though it's take-out only. Also over Bay Area Bites, Stephanie V.W. Lucianovic reviews their 'Shaking Beef' kit, which actually looks like the better bargain at $17.50.
