SFist is so excited! Next week we start biking to work. We've taken our pink, retro 3-speed out of storage, pumped up her tires and fastened on the wicker basket. We're nearly ready to go!

Biking is a great way to get around, especially in cities where traffic is a nightmare and the fares on public transit keep going up. But you need to be safe and aware on the road. Obviously, the car is going to win in any head to head combat. We're pretty confident on the road for two reasons: first, we have a good helmet and we wear it; second, we took a bike skills class last year.
