Three girls go into the woods. They get drunk, they get naked, they get high.
Do you think they might get dead? Wilderness Survival for Girls takes all the tension of a well-done teens in peril thriller and then turns it on its head to awesome effect.

As they wait out the night with the drifter, who may or may not be the man who killed another two young girls up there a few years ago, the dynamics in their relationships with each other and with themselves change as they test new boundaries and confront their fears.

SFist loves the rare movies when teenage girls are written well and acted well and this is one of them. The three girls are multi-dimensional and largely believable. And a big special nod to James Morrison as Ed, the drifter, who we think did an exceptional job with a role requiring a tightrope walk. The tension is really well done and the ending is both satisfying and frustrating. We won't give it away. We just think you should go see it.

You have one more chance to see it at Cinequest on Saturday the 12th at 11:30pm (it's worth staying up for). If you miss it there, we're told they just got distribution for it so you may be able to see it in a theatre or on Netflix as well.
