Without a doubt, the coolest place in the Cannery: Lark in the Morning. It's a place where music is serious and music is fun. Classic instruments, like guitars, mandolins, recorders, xylophones, bongos, and more are available. But so are fun (and affordable!) instruments, like pennywhistles, musical washboards, bird calls, harmonica key chains, and clogging dolls (a.k.a. "limberjacks").

The sheer number and variety of musical instruments available is
overwhelming, and one can easily spend hours just browsing. The store carries learning tools -- like videos and books -- which are great for kids and other aspiring musicians. Musical recordings are available for those who prefer to listen rather than play. While price points vary, you should be able to find something appropriate for anyone with even a tangential interest in music, whether affordable stocking stuffers or pricier, long-term investments, like a cello.

There are also locations in Mendocino and Seattle; see their web site for details.
