... and the District 5 race claims another victim. Last-place candidate H. Brown, a writer and self-described homeless man who garnered 43 votes in the election, had spent Tuesday night, like us, drinking heavily. He then tried to get into City Hall, no doubt to lodge a protest about the failed RCV computer system. Unfortunately, he chose to go through a door that wasn't open, got in a fight with the cops who came by to see what was going on, and then spent the rest of the evening waiting for them to call Ohio for Bush from a jail cell (scroll down) in the SF drunk tank.
While in jail (scroll down again), Brown shook the bars, cried out, "Four more years," and claimed he would sue the city for a broken arm. As he was getting out of jail, he then just happened to get in another fight with the same cops who had arrested him, and got thrown back in the slammer for a few more hours. Brown's arm seems to be fine now, and the candidate is scheduled for a court appearance some time today. Continuing the fine tradition of insider city politics, H. Brown will be represented in court by one Matthew Gonzalez, Esq.
