Through a labor intensive process, Count creates a collage of sound by layering textures of small noises and sounds. This unique thumbprint has led musicians with a similar aesthetic to work with Count and has helped him avoid his nightmare professional scenario of being trapped in a studio for twelve hours a day with a band that can’t play their instruments.

Count scores extra points with the SFist crew because of his ability to resist the siren song of commercial production work in LA while still becoming a recognizable and sought after producer in San Francisco. You can check out Count in person when his band, Halou, plays the Make Out Room on September 30th.
