The Chron candy insanity continues with the appearance of Reese's Pieces Peanut and Peanut Butter in the San Francisco Chronicle vending machine. (They're so weird we can't find them on Google! That is some serious weirdness, you must agree.)

Our source at the Chronicle describes the candy as "they're basically peanut m&ms, but instead of Candy, Chocolate, Peanut...it's Candy, Peanutbutter, Peanut." He went on to say "these could have been in stores forever, but I haven't seen them. And from the information in my book on how candy companies sell that stuff, we would have seen it. They make sure you will notice a new candy."

We know he's right, because we can't tell you the number of people who have announced to us that they, too, have just discovered MAzing since we mentioned its strange emergence at the SF Chronicle. We continue to wonder - is the Chron just on the zeitgeist, or is there more mysterious marketing afoot? Fear not, for SFist will remain on the case and bring you, dear reader, the full story once it is revealed
