Local:
- Former Supervisor Aaron Peskin is threatening to rile up a June 2026 ballot measure against Mayor Daniel Lurie’s “family zoning” plan, and the union San Francisco Labor Council is joining the fight with him. Critics of Lurie’s plan say that it could displace small businesses and rent-controlled tenants across town, and Peskin says that Lurie, like Supervisor Joel Engardio, would enrage Chinese-American voters with this move. - Two United Airlines planes clipped wings at SFO Monday night, and all passengers were forced to deboard, though no one was injured. Then around 10 am Tuesday morning, another United flight from SFO to Baltimore had to turn back because of a "a plastic burning smell in the cabin.” [KGO]
- Former SF Symphony conductor Esa Pekka-Salonen has taken a new role as creative director LA Philharmonic, plus two other positions with the Philharmonie de Paris the Orchestre de Paris. Pekka-Salonen joked to the New York Times that he was now in the“senior citizen” phase, wherein “movie tickets are a little cheaper and these positions become available.” [NY Times]

- President Trump said Tuesday that he’s determined to send National Guard troops into Chicago and Baltimore next, and taunted, “I didn’t say when” because I guess he hopes to catch local leaders off guard. [AP News]
- A Massachusetts federal judge apologized to Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh over allegedly misunderstanding an emergency order, after the high court overruled his overruling of Trump's blocking grant money from the National Institutes of Health. [NY Times]
- Rapper Cardi B was cleared by a jury in a $24 million civil assault lawsuit filed by a former bodyguard, who claims the vocalist cut her cheek with a three-inch fingernail and spat on her. [ABC News]

- Mayor Daniel Lurie appearing on Hot Ones? Not exactly, but along those lines. Former Golden State Warriors center and now TV analyst Festus Ezeli does some sort of online video series called Festus Feasts, and did an episode with Mayor Lurie at 24th Street’s La Vaca Birria. And Lurie asked owner Ricardo Lopez for hot sauce, which Lopez described as “super spicy.” Both Lurie and Festus throw some down, with Festus saying “Oh, it’s hot!” Though Lurie flashes Ezeli a silent but amused grin that seems to say, "Nah, it's not that hot."
