Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Amazon Prime Truck Splits Vehicle In Two In Solano County

A horrific looking crash happened Friday morning on I-80 in Dixon involving two big rigs and multiple vehicles — with one vehicle ending up split in two.

The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. with one of the trucks — an Amazon Prime truck — traveling westbound and crossing over the center divide, as KPIX reports via California Highway Patrol. The truck collided with another big rig traveling eastbound, as well as several additional vehicles in the oncoming eastbound lanes. And one car, as seen in the Twitter video below, was hit with such force that it split in two and flipped over.

The crash, which caused major injuries according to the CHP, temporarily shut down I-80 in both directions. But as of 12:30 p.m., all westbound lanes had reopened and one eastbound lane had opened as well, per KPIX.

KCRA has overhead footage of the aftermath of the crash, showing the two big rigs entangled on the eastbound side of the freeway.

It's not yet clear how many people were injured or if anyone was killed in the crash.

CHP Solano posted additional photos seen below to Facebook.
