A man was arrested Monday evening after reports that he was chasing another person around the area of 7th and Mission Street with a hypodermic needle.
A report about the attack is just arrving Friday, and the suspect was allegedly chasing the victim at around 5:35 p.m. Monday. The SFPD says that responding officers actually saw the chase in progress. As Bay City News reports, the suspect was briefly hospitalized for unexplained reasons, and was then taken into police custody.
The area of 7th and Mission is the location of both the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the Federal Building, the outdoor plaza of which has been the source of many complaints of vagrancy and open-air drug deals in the last year or two.
It's not yet clear what the suspect was charged with or if he is still in custody as of Friday.
