- Another pedestrian has been fatally hit by vehicle in San Francisco. Around 8 p.m. Saturday night, a woman was struck by a passing car at the intersection of Fifth and Market Streets, and she was pronounced dead on-the-scene by first responders; the driver was cooperative and appeared to have no drugs or alcohol in their system. Now released from the Mesa Verde ICE Processing Facility, Jose Armando Escobar-Lopez, who spent three days in custody, hopes to sue the county for “compensatory, statutory, treble, and punitive damages” and “violating his rights against unlawful seizure; his right to due process; his rights under the California Values Act and the TRUTH Act; false imprisonment; causing emotional distress; and negligence.” [CBS SF]
