• 27-year-old Sarah Jane Lockner of Redwood City was sentenced Friday in a high-profile case from September 2017 in which she was accused of trying to drown a baby she had just given birth to in a McDonald's toilet. Lockner got four years of supervised probation with credit for time served after pleading no contest to felony child endangerment. She's also been ordered to take parenting classes. [SFGate]
  • A mistrial has been declared in the case of a San Francisco security guard who was left with permanent brain damage after being attacked with a skateboard. The trial of 24-year-old Jesse Vieira, which left the jury deadlocked, was the reason why late skateboarder Pablo Ramirez was in SoMa two weeks ago before he was killed by a truck on Seventh Street.
