A big-rig truck slammed into an overpass on 80 in San Pablo early Friday morning, overturning its trailer and scattering debris all over the roadway. Two of the four westbound lanes were closed to traffic following the crash, which was first reported at 5:02 a.m. according to CBS 5.
NBC Bay Area says that the crash "sheared off the truck's container," suggesting maybe that the container/trailer itself was too tall for the clearance of the overpass at San Pablo Dam Road.
Drivers were being told to seek alternate routes as traffic only worsened on the always clogged stretch of the 80 freeway.
There's no word on when the scene will be completely cleared.
