A teen driver was arrested Monday afternoon, after fleeing from San Francisco police in a chase that smashed several cars.
Police say that the incident began at 4:50 p.m. Monday, near the intersection of Turk and Polk Streets.
Police say that "officers were in a pursuit of a felony hit & run vehicle" that they say was being driven by a 16-year-old male. During the chase, police say the teen "struck an occupied vehicle and hit numerous parked vehicles."
Eventually, he dumped the car he was driving and fled on foot. That's when police were able to catch up to the suspect.
The driver of the occupied vehicle, a 29-year-old woman, was transported to an area hospital for injuries police say are not life-threatening. It's unclear exactly how many parked vehicles were damaged in the chase.
As the suspect is a minor, police are not identifying him publicly at this time. Police do confirm, however, that he was taken into custody at the scene.
