A mother and her child are recovering Monday, after they were struck by a driver who struck them as they crossed a San Francisco street.
Police say that the collision occurred at 8:12 p.m. Saturday, on Columbia Square, an alley that runs between Harrison and Folsom Streets between Sixth and Seventh Streets.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, a 41-year-old woman and her 3-year-old daughter were crossing the street when they were struck by a driver, who "fled the scene" following the collision.
Both victims were transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment of their injuries, which police say are not life-threatening.
Police say that they later found the alleged hit-and-run driver, a 19-year-old male, "away from the scene." According to ABC7, officers tracked the suspect to a location "three-miles away off Silver and San Bruno." He was arrested, police say, and was booked into San Francisco County Jail for his alleged crimes.
