A delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday, while working on one of San Francisco's busiest streets for tourists.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the 41-year-old victim was making a delivery on the 100 block of Powell Street, which is just one block up from the always-packed cable car turnaround at Powell and Market Streets, at 10 p.m. Tuesday.

He "was getting back into his work truck via the passenger door" when a suspect in his 30s opened the driver's side door and pointed a gun at him.

The gunman demanded the driver's wallet and call phone, then hopped out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

The driver wasn't injured in the mugging, police say, and the suspect remains at large as of publication time.
