Part goofily scatological holiday children's book and part parable of Christmas-related greed, The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas is a 2012 work of literature by Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter of pop-punk band McFly. (The two have parlayed the success into an entire series involving this pooping dinosaur pet and his boy master named Danny.) Now, Metallica drummer and former (?) Bay Area resident Lars Ulrich went on a BBC Radio program this week and read the entire, poop-filled Christmas tale aloud, and it's pretty adorable and funny.
As Rolling Stone notes, Ulrich signs off with seasons greetings from Metallica.
The book, says Fletcher and Poynter, grew out of a joking song they started to write on a tour bus one day, and they admit that adults they remain tickled by poop and fart jokes.
Metallica frontman James Hetfield was in the news this week for declaring that he was done with the Bay Area and all its "elitism," favoring the plebeian climes of Vail instead.
And meanwhile Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett may also be moving elsewhere, with Curbed reporting that his Sea Cliff manse has just hit the market for a cool $16 million.
