Following on an hours-long bomb scare and shelter-in-place situation in SoMa Thursday afternoon which shut down streets and locked down everyone inside the Hall of Justice, two more suspicious packages/devices drew police activity and more sheltering in place within several blocks of each other on Valencia Street.
The first involved "some kind of device" that was spotted on the 100 block of Duboce, at Valencia, near the skate park, and police arrived on the scene around 8 p.m. as ABC 7 reports. Alerts went out to shelter in place, and the situation was deemed resolved around 8:45 p.m.
Per Mission Local, the first word of the device came at 6:20 p.m., and the bomb squad ultimately blew up the device, whatever it was, which caused a loud bang. The explosion set off car alarms and apparently gave off a strong odor.

Only 30 minutes later, a suspicious bag showed up at Mission Police Station at Valencia and 17th Street, as KRON 4 reported. The bag was found in the station's lobby.
Yet another shelter-in-place order went out the third in less than 12 hours but the bag was soon deemed harmless.
According to Mission Local, it sounds as though the bomb squad couldn't even find the bag once they arrived, but in any event the situation was resolved by 10:22 p.m.
