A 31-year-old Pacifica man was arrested Thursday for numerous sex crimes dating back to 2007 including sodomy of a drugged victim, and possession of child pornography. Joseph Courtney was taken into custody at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, as KRON 4 reports, and though the police report does not indicate it specifically, it sounds as though all of Courtney's victims were male.
According to the Mercury-News, Courtney found his victims through hookup apps and websites, and the child pornography in this case is likely to be photos received from underage boys on these apps. In addition to multiple counts of sodomy of an unconscious victim, sodomy of a drugged victim, sodomy with force, sodomy in concert with another by force, oral copulation with force, and robbery, Courtney is also suspected of having contact with underage boys for the purpose of having sex.
It's believed that many of of these encounters involved the use of narcotics and "date rape" drugs, including GHB. All the cases apparently occurred between 2007 and 2016.
He was arrested by the Pacifica Police Department on a $2,000,000 felony warrant.
