A kitchen fire at an iconic Richmond District dive bar and restaurant was extinguished by firefighters yesterday, reports CBS 5. The fire at the Tee Off Bar & Grill, one of the best dive bars in the city, was first reported Sunday around 2:10 p.m.
SFFD spokesman Jonathan Baxter told the channel that the department was able to contain the fire in the kitchen, preventing it from spreading to the rest of the bar, before extinguishing it completely.
According to Baxter, no one was injured in the fire, and while it appears to have started in the kitchen, an investigation into the cause is still ongoing.
No word yet on how badly the kitchen was damaged by the fire. SFist called the Tee Off to determine if the staff would still be serving food this evening, but the call went unanswered. Neither the bar's website, Facebook page, or Twitter account made any reference to the fire as of press time.
