Oakland Police today located a 14-year-old girl who, according to a witness report, had earlier in the day been snatched off the street by a man. According to KRON4, police received a call this morning around 9:15 a.m reporting the alleged kidnapping in the area of 64th Street and Alcatraz Avenue. Police swarmed the surrounding blocks, and managed to find and arrest the 20-year-old suspect just before noon.

The suspect's arrest led to a police raid on a house and the detaining of several men and women inside.

The Chronicle reports that police are investigating this as a potential human trafficking case. The paper notes that "[an] emotional mother at the scene, surrounded by other family members, said that her 14-year-old daughter was forcibly abducted by a stranger but that she escaped."

This, sadly, is only the most recent case of someone being kidnapped off the streets of Oakland. Last December near Piedmont Avenue and Randwick Avenue a man believed to be in his 20s kidnapped, robbed, and sexually assaulted a woman.
