An alleged carjacking yesterday in the Bayview led to a high-speed chase through the streets of San Francisco and ended with three suspects in custody. ABC 7 reports that this all went down starting around 12:10 p.m., and police officers gave chase both through the Bayview and on I-280.
According to KRON 4, police set up a perimeter and were able to arrest three of four suspects. SFPD's officer Albie Esparza tweeted out that the three were in custody just shortly after 2:00 p.m. A fourth suspect reportedly fled in a truck, and it was this chase that ended up on the interstate.
After the pursued truck caused a crash on the interstate, the Chronicle informs us that the suspect managed to escape.
There was also a report of SFPD cruisers speeding through Hayes Valley about this time as well, and it's unclear just how much of the city this chase covered.
